Our Team

Dr. Wilkerson is a licensed Optometrist who grew up in Springfield, TN. He has been working at this office for over twenty years. His career began with his father-in-law, Dr. David Reed when our office was known by “Drs. Reed & Wilkerson”, and he has taken great care of many people in our community. 

He attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and then went on to obtain his doctorate from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. He is a member of both the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians (TAOP) and the American Optometric Association (AOA). He spends most of his time outside of work with family, at his church where he is the Pastor, or cooking delicious food.

Dr. Socey is a licensed Optometrist who also grew up in Springfield, TN. She joined our office family after graduation in 2020 and has made a wonderful impact on the eyes of our community. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University before obtaining her doctorate degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. She is a member of the Middle Tennessee Optometric Physicians Society (MTOPS), the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians (TAOP) and the American Optometric Association (AOA).

In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, cuddling with her chocolate lab, reading a good book, boating on the lake, or traveling.

Jordan Hanner is a Certified Paraoptometric Technician who has been part of our team since 2020. Originally from Springfield, she values building genuine connections and treating every patient like family. Jordan has a friendly, down-to-earth personality and brings warmth and care to everything she does - if you visit our clinic you will probably hear her contagious laugh!

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with loved ones, reading, exploring new places, and finding simple joys in everyday life. Her positive spirit and dedication make her a valued part of our office and community.

Jennifer McKinney, a Springfield native, has been an integral part of Springfield Primary Eye Care for 18 years - she joined the practice then known as Drs. Reed & Wilkerson in 2007! Throughout her tenure, she has served in multiple roles including receptionist, technician, and now licensed optician gaining a comprehensive understanding of both patient care, office operations, and optical services. Jennifer takes pride in helping patients find eyewear that complements their lifestyle and enhances their vision, ensuring each experience is personal and positive.

Outside the office, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband, James, and their three children, Jaiden, Kameron, and Colin. She also loves traveling and attending concerts whenever she can.

Kate Starks is a Greenbrier local who graduated from Austin Peay in 2020 and is currently studying to become a Certified Paraoptometric Technician. She has dual roles of receptionist and technician and has been working with us since early 2024, however Kate has been a long term patient of ours since childhood! Her calm demeanor is ready to handle any stressful situation, and if you come in for an exam, chances are you will see her smiling face.

In her free time, Kate enjoys being outside, listening to music, and spending time with her husband and adorable daughter.

Kara Vaughn was born and raised in Robertson County, and has always believed in the power of community and the importance of taking care of one another. She joined Springfield Primary Eye Care in early 2025 where she is both a receptionist and technician. She enjoys treating our patients with compassion, dedication, and has a demeanor that is so welcoming it makes patients feel like they’re home. She strives to make all patients feel seen and valued, and truly encompasses the fact that we don't just treat eyes, we serve people.

When not at the office, you can usually find Kara spending time with family and friends or searching for hidden gems while thrifting!
